My petite ankle pants from Banana Republic was yet another culprit, a closet sitter that rarely saw the sunshine, so I concocted two outfits to get a least some minimum wear from it. This ankle pants is perfect for curvy petite women. It hits the leg in the right place which is what it should do, especially for women with short legs. So, if you are short, you can also wear ankle pants without the alterations. I hope to inspire and I'll show you how to wear ankle pants for petites and even how to wear those same ankle pants to work.
I was inspired by these two tops from Promod, located on the "French" side of the island. And the "French" side or preferably north side is where we set our sights for this shoot, Rue de Coralita. Trust me, I was clueless about the name of the location. I just wanted to be near the lookout point and, low and behold, there is a small outdoor eatery there.
For these outfits, I kept my sights on simplicity with a touch of elegance, one I can take to a work environment and the other, I can rediscover St. Martin with.
In the first, I married two contrasting pattern and it works because both patterns are small and the gingham in black and white is practically a neutral. Remember my Lauren by Ralph Lauren Mya Dress Sandal in Polo Tan Burnished Leather?
That lovely piece of blue, (also found in droplets on the blouse), makes me want to smile every time. I told you they are timeless, timeless with a comfortable heel one can wear, even at a picnic table.
The second outfit literally stands on these corkscrew wedges. The thin gold hardware determined the accessory and voila, I was done. I love this blouse; it is unassuming and a delicious red.
Best of all, there are little bows on the back. Because it is a small, extra petite ladies can sport it as an off-the-shoulder blouse. Your choice.
P.S. In the middle of the shoot, hot baguettes were delivered. Gotta love the French. I'm tempted to try the menu. You Might Also |
