It is hard to imagine what life would be like without your backbone. It is just as hard to imagine life without your mom, but still, Silveria Jacobs (and many St. Martin women like her) was made stronger by the care and memories of her beloved mother, Nadia Bryson, whose heart was medically weak, but abundantly pulsing with love for her children, an electricity that gave her such a strong will she did "the job of a man," changing tires and driving big trucks despite the doctor's recommendation.

Nadia Bryson was possibly wearing a cape. Many of our mothers should be wearing capes. They are super heroines and we are oh so proud to share who they are, their memories and our favorite stories, like the day they faced their fears as Sylvia Conner did, being a mom by day and a student by night. And these stick with us, these resounding moments that at the time were just seeds in our childhood minds.

They guide our fingers to the cord that connects us with our Heavenly Father. They pray, according to Solange Duncan, not for themselves but for their families. She is generous even with the gift and burden-lightener called laughter and cannot be replaced by books on motherhood. Our mothers are prolific.

(the video/ad below, The Unique Connection, is a perfect example of how we can find our mothers even though we are blindfolded and without her voice. So special.)
Tell her you love her... especially if today is not the day you celebrate Mother's Day.
